Mr. Sean Jordan

As a 20-year veteran educator of United States and Western Civilization History, I've dedicated my career to helping students move beyond memorizing dates and names. My goal has always been to instill critical thinking skills that encourage them to truly understand the "why" behind historical events. I believe history comes alive when students engage with it deeply and meaningfully.

One of the ways I fuel this commitment is through travel to sites linked to the history of the United States, particularly from the colonial era through the Civil War. Experiencing these places firsthand has enriched my teaching immensely and given me authentic stories and perspectives to bring back to my classroom. I'm also an avid reader, as continuous learning is essential to staying engaged with my subject matter and modeling lifelong learning for my students.

A thorough background check is required for all those employed or volunteering to work with youth or vulnerable adults as a cleric, at a parish or school, as an Archdiocesan employee or at an Archdiocesan institution. All volunteers and employees are required to complete the electronic/online background check through SELECTION.com prior to beginning their volunteer activity or employment. In addition to the electronic/online background check, employees are required to complete manual fingerprinting and submit a B4 form before begin- ning their employment at an Archdiocesan parish, school, or institution.
